Weekend rides 14/15 Oct

We are entering into uncharted waters this weekend with the addition of a fourth club ride!

A few members have expressed an interest in the club organising some mountain bike events so expert rider Steve Goddard has kindly volunteered to lead the very first one. It won’t be too technical as we get a feel for what works well, and so will be suitable for all MTB’ers but you can expect to go off-road and get a bit muddy. Please wear appropriate protectiive equipment (e.g. gloves, helmet etc) and make sure you’re bike is up to scratch.

We will meet at Spiceball Leisure Centre at 1.45pm, so you’ll be nicely warmed up if you do that morning’s cafe ride, and go along the canal path before heading off-road for a couple of hours. All the other rides leave Broadribb Cycles.

Saturday 10am: our gentle cafe ride goes to Farthingoe for coffee and cake, Andy and Rob will be leading this ride which is suitable for riders of all abilities. The average speed will be 12-14mph.

Saturday 2pm: Time to get muddy on your mountain bike! There’s no route but expect a ride of about two hours. Steve Goddard will be leading the group from Spiceball’s car park.

Sunday 9am:: There’s no leader yet available for Sunday’s fast ride out to Farthingstone but it will go ahead so please have the route on your bike computer.

Sunday 10am: John and Bill take charge of the Intermediate ride which is 34 miles out to Eydon for a special cake and coffee stop deal again. The average speed is 15-16mph
