UPDATE: Saturday 0840: The overnight temperatures have left a widespread frost and icy patches on the many untreated roads we’d be using for today’s rides so both the Gentle and Intermediate rides have been cancelled. Tomorrow looks like being warmer.
So for the first time in a very long time we had to cancel all of a weekend’s rides because of ice and snow. Fingers crossed this coming weekend’s weather is kinder as you’ll no doubt be itching to burn off the calories eaten and drunk the previous evening at the annual dinner and prizegiving.
Any announcement of ride cancellations will be posted in the Facebook Group and on the website about an hour before the scheduled start time.
Saturday 10am Gentle: This week we will be heading out to Whichford Pottery via Lower Brailes and returning down Tadmarton Heath, a route of 26.5 miles that will be ridden at an average of 12-14mph.
Saturday 10am Intermediate: The slightly faster Intermediate ride is also going to Whichford, out via the same route and returning via Greater Rollright and Hook Norton. Expect 15-16mph over the 32 mile course.
Sunday 9am fast: The 62 mile route heads out to the picturesque Fawsley estate and will be ridden at an average of 17-18mph. We will be passing through Helmdon, Wapenham, Napton and Southam before the last leg to Banbur
Sunday 10am: Riding at an average of 15-16mph, our route of 38 miles will be ridden at 15-16mph average speed and also passes through Helmdon before stopping with the return leg via Cropredy.
