Wintery conditions, but still a hot time for Leason
In spite a threatening sky and bitter cold, another excellent field of 38 riders braved the conditions for last night’s weekly time trial. Whilst the conditions added around a minute or more to most competitors normal times, Billy Leason still led the field with a time of 27m 24s, some 54 seconds clear of his nearest regular challenger Cameron Foster. However, the next five riders were covered by a mere 23 seconds, with two of the riders trying the course for the first time.
The field again comprised a number of new members trying time trialling for the first time, plus riders from other clubs, keen to get in some early season training. This included a new fastest women rider, Jessica Rhodes-Jones, who posted an excellent 33m 40s, beating regular front runner Lydia Watts, by just 11 seconds.
