2017 time trial #14 K4/15 Hilly

Records fall on Hilly 15 time trial

Twenty two riders entered Banbury Star’s Hilly 15 mile TT, held over a tough 2 lap course, which entails two ascents of the Knowle at Edge Hill. As the season progresses and the competition gets stronger and fitter all three club records were broken at this event.

Winner Jon Simpkins set the fastest time of 36m 40s, beating the course record set by pro-rider George Pym by 41 seconds. In second place Simon Kisley set a time of 39m 27s, which beat his own club record by 48 seconds. However, special mention must go to ever improving Naomi de Pennington who set a new women’s club record of 46m 51s, and finished 13th overall in a strong male dominated field.
