Banbury Star Retro Ride Sunday 10th September

Sponsored by Golden Age Cycles, Banbury, this inaugural non-competitive event celebrates the growing interest in old* and classic bicycles. Starting at 10am an appropriate 30 mile route has been planned along some of the best local countryside roads with a halfway stop for coffee and cake at the Chandlers Arms in Epwell.

* for bikes up to the early 1990s, but preferably ’80s and older.

To prepare for the ride and help your old bikes get around successfully, Golden Age Cycles will be offering a discounted bike service before the day. Also, for those keen to take part, but who don’t have a suitable old bike, Golden Age will have bikes available to hire. For this please contact enquiries@goldenagecycles.co.uk

The event will start next to Golden Age Cycles in North Bar Street, Banbury, OX16 0TB, with a free coffee from Buzzy Beans prior to the 10am start. A trophy will be awarded for the best turned out rider and bike combination of the day.

There will be a  £5 entry fee on the day with the proceeds being given to the charity Recycle, Bikes for Africa.

No booking is required for the event, but an email confirming your participation to

would greatly help us in preparing for the event.
