Weekend rides 30/31 Dec

The Christmas festivities may possibly have left you feeling stuffed with turkey, chocolates and alcohol so what better way to prepare for yet more of the same on New Year’s Eve than coming out on one of the five rides we have this weekend*. We’ve continued to see huge numbers turn up for rides all the way through the winter so why not come along for the final rides of 2017?

*Any announcement of ride cancellations due to weather will be posted in the Facebook group and on the website about an hour before the scheduled start time.

Saturday 10am Gentle: The Swan Hotel in Kineton will be the stopping point on the gentle cafe ride on a route of 30 miles that will be ridden at an average of 12-14mph.

Saturday 10am Intermediate: The slightly faster Intermediate ride is also going to Kineton, and stretching the legs with a couple of hills along the way. Expect 15-16mph over the 33 mile course.

Saturday 10.30am Mountain biking: The club’s monthly mountain bike ride will meet at the Giants Caves car park on the Banbury to Broughton B4035 road, just before the North Newington turn off. Steve Goddard will again be leading the ride which will be approx. 20 miles on some good local bridleways and tracks. Be prepared for mud!

Sunday 9am fast: 53 miles at an average of 17-18mph will take the fast group out through Brailes and Moreton to Chipping Campden and then a couple of climbs on the return leg

Sunday 10am: Riding at an average of 15-16mph, the Intermediate ride goes out to Limes Farm to defrost over cake and coffee, taking in the delights of Kings Sutton, Brackley, Middleton Cheney and Cropredy along the way.
