For 2018, Banbury Star CC are proud to be holding three open races, the entries for which are now open:
Sunday 4th March: Hardrider Time Trial
The racing season opens in March with our feared Hardriders event, posing a real test of a rider’s winter training effort. Starting at Wroxton, competitors head north, descending the notorious Sunrising Hill to Ettington where they turn around to retrace the route to HQ, climbing back up the hill which is 17% at its steepest to complete the 23 mile course. The winner is presented with the Broughton Cup. Prizes are awarded to the first six men, first and second women and the top three veterans. For 2018 we are also awarding a team prize for the fastest three and finally KOM and QOM awards.

Sunday 27th May: Male and Female Road Race

The morning’s race will be for Category 3 and 4 men and the afternoon’s is part of the Women’s Team Series for Elite and Category 1/2/3.
A total prize fund of £1000 is on available, with riders from first to fifth being rewarded for their efforts plus a KOM and QOM award for the Edge Hill climb.

Saturday 1st September: Open 10 mile Time Trial
This is a new event for Banbury Star on a brand new course, the K4/10W which starts at the top of the 11% Warmington Hill and proceeds out to Gaydon and then back along the Warwick Road for the finish at the bottom of the hill.
