The club’s weekly Wednesday evening time trial season opened with the traditional 5 mile Come and Try TT on the mainly flat course from Gaydon to Kineton and back. In spite of a bitterly cold evening and a dark threatening sky, 32 enthusiastic riders turned out to brave the conditions.
Mark Boyles on the start line finished 9th
Several first timers competed, as did a competitive selection of riders from neighbouring clubs, which included current course record holder Richard Jennings. A relatively short and fast course often produces some very close times and whilst Jennings again maintained his form with a convincing 35 second win margin, those behind had some very close times.
Simon Kisley in 4th was the first Banbury Star rider, whilst Lydia Watts, the first lady, finished just outside the top 10 in 11th, with a time of 12.45.
Results; 1. Richard Jennings 10.44, 2. Sam Harding 11.19, 3. Tony Kiss 11.35, 4. Simon Kisley 11.42, 5. Jonathan Ward 11.46, 6. Cameron Foster 12.02, 7. Lee Heron 12.03, 8. Luke Sherlock 12.04, 9, Mark Boyles 12.25, 10. Michal Wisowski 12.43

A big thank you to Oli Wright and the marshals for their efforts on a cold evening.
Next week it’s the 2Up TT on the K4/20 course, starting at 6.30pm.
