Simon Kisley wins first solo club 20k TT of the season

Banbury Star CC’s weekly evening time trial was yet again held in far from ideal conditions with cold, overcast skies and mist to endure. However, just to prove how popular the club TTs are, an amazing 43 riders still turned up to take on the circular 20k/13mile course which starts on the B4100 near Hanwell.

One of the attractions of this event is that non-club members are allowed to enter, with many top local riders regularly competing and usually winning. However, on this occasion club member Simon Kisley, following on from his 2Up win the previous week, won with the only sub 30 minute time of 29.46. Four of the top five riders were all club members. Darren Alexander (Team Cherwell) was just 19 seconds behind Kisley in second place and the ever improving Luke Sherlock was third, 10 seconds further back. The top end of the field were very close with the first eight riders all within a minute of the fastest time.

Simon Kisley enjoys two wins in two weeks

In the women’s section Team Cherwell’s Heidi Yates and Ann Heaney were 1st and 3rd , whilst returning Star member Naomi de Pennington was second.
