After a day of heavy rain and strong winds, a relatively still and sunny evening made ideal conditions for Banbury Star CC’s weekly time trial. This time the venue moved to one of the club’s three 10 mile courses, which starts and finishes near Swerford. It’s fast and mainly on the A361, with just a slight incline to the roundabout outside Chipping Norton, then a quick wind assisted return.
It may have been a different course and length, but again an on form Simon Kisley recorded the fastest time of 22.51, a comfortable 32 seconds ahead of second placed Jonathan Ward. The ever improving Ben Heaney finished third a further 20 seconds back, pushing regular top 3 runner Darren Alexander down to fourth.
Winners – Simon flies onto the A361 and Lydia starts
In the women’s section Lydia Watts won with a time of 26.38, making her an excellent 12th overall in the 29 rider field, ahead of Anne Heaney and Katie Pamphlett.
