After plodding up and down the Warwick Road for what feels like weeks of 25 mile TTs, our return to the much-loved 20k course has had to be postponed as we’ve fallen victim to a combination of temporary traffic lights on the dip in the Stratford Road where the muddy puddle gathers and also about 3/4 mile of freshly surface-dressed road a bit further along and continuing to past the Indian Queen. The accumulated gravel has not been swept away and poses a real risk to us as overtaking a fellow cyclist would be dangerous and any overtaking cars throw up a shower of gravel. But all is not lost as we’ve got the alternative course declared – the very fast Tysoe Ten.
Sign-on takes place at the start line in Lower Tysoe (please park in the village itself) from 1800 and then closing at 1840 promptly for a 1900 start. New for this season is the ability to register taking part on the club’s Facebook group which will have a message from Keri Williams from Tuesday onwards. Entry is £2 for club members who haven’t paid the TT supplement and £4 for non-members.
The timekeeper is Keri, we are being launched by Ian Mac with Jo Abbott, Ila Pearson and Team Cherwell as our marshals. Please study the route as we always lose at least one rider on this route!
