Billy Leason returns to win last 20k TT of the season

Another great entry of 43 riders turned out for Banbury Star CC’s last time trial of the season on their popular 20km circular course. Whilst the conditions were warm and dry, a fresh headwind on one of the long sections made going tough, with the course record under no threat.

As well as the usual regulars, the large entry comprised several new comers, plus a return of some past regulars. One of the latter was young Billy Leason, now away at university, who immediately returned to his winning ways, setting the fastest time of the night at 27.30. His margin over second placed Simon Smart was a healthy 1m 13s, with young Harry Kirby delighted not only to finish third, but to get under the 30 minute barrier with a time of 29.45.

Again a strong entry of 10 women competed with Kim Shaw (Team Cherwell) setting the fastest time of 33.59, at last getting the better of regular front runners Naomi de Pennington 34.12 and Lydia Watts 35.17.
