Weekend rides 10/11 November

Sunday’s club rides coincide with Remembrance Sunday and we will be paying our respects to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so as we can enjoy the freedom we take for granted today. The keen of eye will observe these WW1 soldiers were ahead of the curve when it came to using mudguards as the going became slightly sub-optimal so follow their lead by fitting yours as mudguards are now mandatory if the roads are wet or rain is forecast.

Saturday 10am Gentle Cafe Ride: The 12-14mph average speed Gentle Cafe Ride is going out to Farthinghoe that features a stop for half-time refreshments as part of a 26 mile loop

Saturday 10am Intermediate Ride: The same coffee and cake stop in Farthinghoe but a faster average of 15-16mph over a longer route of 33.5 miles.

Sunday Long Intermediate and Fast Rides 9am: The long intermediate and fast rides head west to Chipping Campden and the joys of Ilmington Hill, as part of a 52 mile route. You can expect an average for the former of 16-17mph and the latter 18mph over the 50 miles, if all agree the pace may be even higher. Neither of these rides will be stopping for coffee.

Sunday 10am Intermediate Ride: The second Sunday intermediate is trying a new stop, the Forge at Culworth for coffee and cake. Expect 16mph average speed over the 33.7 mile ride.

All rides meet at Broadribb cycles 15 minutes before the departure time. It’s important you pick a ride that’s commensurate with your ability levels.
