2Up TT – it’s a family affair

The first of Banbury Star Cyclists’ Club’s two 2Up time trials was very much a family affair with father and son, Roger and Cameron Foster, taking a well executed win. Amongst the fourteen team entry were four other family teams with father, mother, son and daughter combinations, plus two brothers. This was a great turnout on what was a bitterly cold evening with the temperature dropping to 3 degrees C. towards the end of the club’s regular 20km course.

The Fosters came home in a time of 30.12, a clear 43 seconds ahead of the youth team of Ruben Trotter and Rhys James, who were a further 23 seconds ahead of Josh Busby and Tim Hiscocks. Three women’s teams competed and first home was mother and daughter, Kim Shaw and Heidi Yates, who finished 9th overall, with a time of 34.35.

Seven riders elected to ride solo on the night with the win going to regular Team Cherwell rider Darren Alexander, who managed to dip under the 30 minute mark with a time of 29.50.
