It’s our last 20k time trial for a few weeks as we take advantage of the lighter evenings and change to the 25 mile course that is so well loved by all who ride it.
We have already seen some very fast rides this season care of Charlie Quarterman who rides for Holdsworth Zappi. Charlie demolished the club record 10 mile time two weeks ago, achieving 19m34s on the K4/10C course in far from ideal weather conditions. He returns this Wednesday with his eye set on breaking the 20k record which was set by Dan Bigham at 25m21s, he came very close to this back in April with only a dropped chain separating him from an incredible time.
Not to be outdone and see his crown taken, Dan is coming back to Banburyshire following his Tour de Yorkshire riding for Team Ribble to go head to head with Charlie. The weather conditions are forecast to be perfect and a full field of 60 riders is expected.
The first rider will be off at 7pm under the watchful gaze of Keri who is also doing the sign-on which starts at 6pm at Ludlow Drive. Pre-registration is now open on the club’s Facebook group. Parking at Ludlow Drive will be very limited as a consequence of the number of riders, we are trying to secure the services of the car park in the adjacent Academy.
