Banbury Star’s 2019 Open Time Trial sees a return to the K4/10W course on the B4100 Warwick Road that was introduced last season and will take place on Saturday 31st August with the first rider departing at 10:01.
The course is an “out and back” with only one turn made at a roundabout and starts with a fast descent of Warmington Hill where speeds approaching 50mph have been recorded. Riders maintain a northwest heading along the B4100 towards Gaydon with another descent of a 10% hill just before the army barracks at Kineton. Gentle undulations allow the rider to settle before the roundabout at Gaydon where a 180 degree turn is made to retrace the outbound leg. The race finishes at the bottom of Warmington Hill, there’s no need to ascend it at race pace!
Entry is a mere £12 which includes a free hot drink and piece of cake and can only be made via the CTT website, by clicking here, there are no on-the-day entries. The final date for entering is Saturday 17th August.
The Race HQ will be located at the North Oxfordshire Academy’s athletics Pavilion where plenty of free parking is available from 08:00 onwards. Enter via the A422 Stratford Road just before the junction with the B4100 Warwick Road.
