Dear members and friends of Banbury Star Cyclists’ Club,
Following the announcement by the UK government this afternoon requesting all of us to avoid non-essential travel and contact with others to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, the committee of Banbury Star CC has decided to suspend all club events and activities with immediate effect.
This means there will be no club rides and no Wednesday club time trials, this will last until further notice.. Our road race planned for May is also put on hold and we will work with British Cycling and the other service providers to determine if an alternative date for later in the year is feasible.
The 2020 Leiden Plaque and our Open time trial scheduled for September will be reviewed closer to the time as the situation in the UK develops.
We hope everyone understands the rationale behind the decision, we have taken this selfless decision in order to help protect those in society more vulnerable than ourselves. We would also like to encourage other cycling activities such as our weekly Zwift training and solo riding where practicable.
We wish you and your families continued good health and look forward to the resumption of normal club activities when possible.
The Committee of Banbury Star Cyclists’ Club
