Sep 5th TT: KH5 hill climb preview and registration

Our last club TT of 2020 is the “love it or loathe it” event. It may only be 700 metres long but what it lacks in distance it more than makes up for in elevation as it’s our hill climb time trial at Burton Dassett and the one that the club’s mountain goats have been looking forward to for a very long time.

Race Registration

Only riders who have registered will be able to race, for this season we cannot accept on-the-evening entries. The link to register is at the bottom of this page. Registration closes at 5pm on the Friday and we will be sending out an email later that evening to let entrants know if they have been successful (in case of over subscription) and also their start number. This is a popular course and we are likely to fill all 60 starting places very quickly so early registration is strongly recommended.

Race HQ

Race number collection starts from 10:00am in one of the car parks at the top of the climb and closes at 10:40am with the first rider off at 11:01am. Please note there are no toilets available here. It is mandatory for all riders and officials to maintain a 2m social distancing gap from everyone else at all times. After picking up your number you must immediately leave the area, there is to be no gathering.

Please remember that for 2020 a working rear light is mandatory, no light = no start and this rule will be strictly enforced. We also strongly recommend a front light is used by all riders.

Race Officials

Race Route

After a standing start just past the cattle grid, all you have to do is pedal your lungs and legs in to oblivion up to the top of the first part of Burton Dassett hill taking care to avoid the sheep who have been known to wander onto the course at times. The grass is nice and soft if you do decide to keel over but beware any deposits from the aforementioned sheep!
