Rich Collier goes large, riding another 100-mile TT

As we know from previous race reports and an interesting blog, member Rich Collier loves his long distance TTs, as well as triathlons.  So, it’s no surprise that he’s gone long again, both in distance to get to an event and the event itself.

The event in question being the North Lancashire Time Trial Association’s 100-mile TT in the Lake District. With a busy work and event diary – with a few events carried over from last year – this event was the only 100-mile Open TT that Rich could do.

Can you keep this up for over 4 hours? Rich Collier competes in another 100-mile TT

Starting just outside Braithwaite, the course was 4 laps along the A66 from Keswick to Cockermouth. This is a fantastic event for the views with many a mountain on view along the route as well as the view of Bassenthwaite Lake. It’s a relatively flat course for the area and the wind was considerably light for the Lake District and the conditions were favourable.

Rich completed the course in an unofficial time of 4 hrs 22min 56 seconds, which is just under 5 minutes quicker than his PB that he set two years ago on the pan flat Norfolk course.
