Eight Star riders entered Rugby Racing Cycling Club’s 10-mile TT on Saturday. Held on the club’s K11/10T course, the large 150 rider entry were faced with a busy road and rain for the first third of the field. The sun appeared later, but the wet and very windy conditions remained, with a head wind on the way out.
The club entry was split 50/50 between categories, with our members scoring excellent second places in both the men’s and women’s events.
Sian Marsh, who continues to improve, put in a great effort to finish second on 22.35, only beaten by a pro-rider and past winner of our road race, Leah Dixon (Wales RA) on 20.09. Sian’s effort was good enough to beat Naomi de Pennington, who finished third on 22.43. Other Star results were Fay Barrington on 23.54 and Moira Goodway on 28.17.
Meanwhile in the men’s and overall category Luke Norris put in another of his great performances, with a fine second place, on 19.44, just 18 seconds behind winner Ollie Hicks (Nopinz Motip RT). More good performances came from club riders Simon Bull 21.25, Josh Lovell 22.21 and Mark Davis 22.32.
