Hardriders TT Preview

This Sunday 13th March sees the return of the Hardriders TT in its usual slot in mid March. Hardy souls will tough it out against what could be a real mixed bag of weather conditions, current forecast suggests possible rain  and a steady southerly wind. The route includes a descent and ascent of Sunrising Hill which is 17% at its steepest. A 23 mile TT, starting at Wroxton and heading north west  to Ettington where they turn round and retrace the route.

The winner being presented with the Broughton Cup.  This year we have a total of 46 entries, with 16 club members entered.

We also have entries from previous winner David Fellows of Solihill CC, who has to be the favourite on paper, as well as familiar faces such as Simon Smith (now riding for TY Cycles), Lydia Watts (AWOL O’Shea Worx) whose battle with Naomi will resume in this first event of the year, James Bryant (Kenilworth Wheelers), Steve van Niekerk (Shutt Velo Test Team), Mark Mallalue and Dan Chambers (both Bicester Millennium CC), Jamie Rankin (Rapha), Chris Spencer (Royal Leamington Spa CC) and last but not least Darren Alexander and Dan Pebody (both Team Cherwell).

Riders can defrost and refuel post-race with some of our home-baked cakes and a well-earned cup of tea at race HQ in Wroxton.

We wish a ‘ good ride’ to all competitors.
