On Sunday it was back to Hillingdon for the final round in the Hillingdon Slipstreamers Series. A cooler day, than most of the previous week, however did not cool the competitive spirit of our young racers. For the 6th round a series of 6 youth races – with the first 5 races counting for series points
In the U10 boys race, Henry Boyles went out quite hard in the bunch, for most of the time. He rode very well, in a very competitive field, establishing himself as a real challenger in the U10s.
In the Under 10 girls Jorgi Gillet, was out again. Having performed really well in the previous races in the series, she finished in 2nd place on the day. Scoring enough points and finishing top of the podium. Congratulations to Jorgi for a stunning result in this spring series. Which was often raced in cold and windy conditions.
Poppy Kisley and Bella Boyles, were out again in the U16 girls, this was the last race of the day, both girls working well together, they eventually set up a sprint finish and Poppy crossing the line in 1st with Bella a close 2nd. Bella who has been steadily accumulating points over the series. Finished the series in top spot on the podium, with Poppy 2nd.
Once again, huge congratulations to the girls. They have proved themselves to be exciting racers and very good at working together, to pull off this result.
Sam Martin again showed himself to be establishing himself in the U14 boys. Sam, having raced in 3 of this series races, raced extremely well in quite a big field and achieved another consistent result.
Our juniors are certainly showing a fighting spirit and proving to be very competitive in the various races. They can be very proud of themselves as the Club is. Congratulations to all of them.
