There’s been so much club racing activity recently, that one weekend, the 18/19th June, has been overlooked. It deserves special mention as it illustrates Josh Newbould’s commitment and continued good form.
On the Saturday, Josh, together with the club’s other fast Josh (Lovell) raced in Hemel Hempstead CC’s 10-mile TT. The infamous F11/10 course near Tring runs along the A41 and is the fastest nearby 10-mile TT, with a gift hill.
The large field of around 100 riders, was very competitive throughout, with National Junior Champion, 18 year old Joshua Tarling (Flanders Color Galloo), setting a record time 18.08. Josh Newbould managed to get under the 20-minute mark, with a time of 19:43, placing him 14th. Josh Lovell finished on a 20:55.

On Sunday, five club members travelled down to Oxford to take on the Didcot Phoenix CC’s Open 25-mile TT. Held on their H25/17 course, it’s an honest out and back route on the A420.
The overall winning time was 50:09, set by Dean Robson (Velo Sport Jersey), but not that far behind in an excellent third place, was our own Josh Newbould on 51.07, competing in his second TT of the weekend.
The other club riders competing were, Stuart Quick 58:30 in 12th, Ed Anderson 59:25 in 13th, Mark Boyles 59:39 in 15th and the ever-young Mike Kirby 1:03:43 in 33rd place
