Mallory Park Junior Race League.
The Mallory Park Junior Race League, has been taking place every Tuesday evening for the past 13 weeks.
This week, being the last round in the series. Four Banbury Star Juniors made the trip up to Leicester on various occasions over the 13 weeks of races, Poppy Kisley, Bella Boyles, Henry Boyles and Sam Martin.
Tuesday night saw Poppy Kisley in action again in the U16 Girls Race, which is competed on the oval 1.25 mile length circuit in an anti-clockwise direction, with a hill- top finish.
Poppy, who was determined to better her previous best 2nd place on this circuit, did not and achieved a fabulous result, finishing in first place, having lapped her competitors’ over the 10 lap race, just finishing behind the U16 boys on the final climb.
Poppy’s consistent high finishes which included a first and four seconds managed to secure her an excellent 3rd place in the overall league just 1 point behind her 2nd placed rival.
She will travel back up to Leicester in 2 weeks time for the final “fun” race where all the juniors have to race all together on toddlers bikes! This is then followed by the prize presentations and awards for the series.
