Durran Cup and Broadribb Trophy.
A bright sunny morning with a blustery wind dawned for our competitors in the annual hillclimb TT, held at Avon Dasset, the 700m climb, short, steep that leaves competitors gasping for air at the top.
With two trophies up for grabs too, one for the fastest woman, the Broadribb Trophy, and one for the overall winner – the impressive Durran Cup. It was an interesting event, competitors were well supported by having the Saturday morning club ride, routed to the event.
The wind actually helped, achieve some good times. Josh Newbould one of our top TT racers, was the first Star rider, taking the Durran Cup with a time of 1.04. Naomi De Pennington the first lady home and although slightly slower than her record time last year, still crossed the line in 1.30, she takes the Broadribb Trophy. Tobi Ng, matched his record time of last year as a non member with a time of 0.59. Sam Martin set a new U16 record.
Well done to all the winners a brilliant effort, which brings the club TT’s for the season to a close.
