Banbury Star Festival of Racing – Sunday 10th September

Following the hard work by a small group of members, the club are pleased to announce the creation of a completely new and exciting festival of cycling races in September. This race event will be the first to cater for all ages and abilities on a safe closed-circuit environment. Billed as the Banbury Star Festival of Racing, the event will take place on the newly resurfaced Shenington Kart Club circuit on Sunday 10th September. A map of the circuit can be seen in the top right-hand corner of the poster below.

Races for juniors, youth, men and women will start at 9am and continue all day until 5pm., culminating in Elite level men’s and women’s races. With chip timing you won’t have long to find out the results. Almost the whole circuit can be viewed from several vantage points and we’re hoping as many members as possible, along with the general public, will come along to watch and support the racing on this fast and tight circuit. Catering facilities will be available and there’ll be ample free parking.

Whilst the main races will require competitors to enter before 8th September and possess a British Cycling race licence, the club will be putting on three Go-Ride races towards the end of the day. Anyone – members or non-members – can enter these Go-Ride races on the day, which will be for men, women and youth/juniors. So, this is the perfect opportunity to give racing a try. These races will only be for a duration of around 30 minutes
