1.1 Membership
Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone interested in the sport regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.
The Club offers different levels of membership and subscription on a non-discriminatory and fair basis and will keep subscriptions at levels that will not pose a significant obstacle to people participating. All ages based on the date of joining and is valid for the subscription period.
Joining the Club entitles members to participate in club rides and events, purchase club kit, receive a discount at Broadribb Cycles and receive discount at Banbury Bike Box Hire. These may change over time and updates will be published as appropriate.
It is a condition of membership that members assist with the running of the club’s events, e.g. pushing-off, marshalling, time-keeping.
Anyone under 18 at the point of joining must log a parental consent form with the club’s secretary no later than before they ride. This must be updated and resubmitted at each renewal. The exception is Rising Stars where riders under 16 years are permitted.
Members and attendees at an Event acknowledge and accept that the Club reserves the right to publish email contact details of the attendees at each Event. The contact details may be provided to other attendees, the speaker, the venue, nominated charities or other worthy causes (as determined by the Club from time to time). If you would prefer that your contact details are not published, please let us know by contacting us at secretary@banburystar.co.uk.
As a Member of the Club, the Member agrees to conduct themselves in a professional and business-like manner, treating other members with respect at all times. If the Club should receive a complaint about any Member’s behaviour, it reserves the right to suspend Membership. Such complaints would constitute a breach of these Terms and Conditions.
The Club’s Committee may refuse membership, or remove it, only for good cause such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or sport into disrepute. Appeal against refusal or removal may be made to an appointed panel consisting of club members. In the event of membership removal, no membership subscription fees shall be refunded.
