Downhill freewheel competition
To counter the uphill competition that favours the clubs’ mountain goats, we also hold a downhill freewheel race, competing for the Trinders Trophy where pedalling is strictly forbidden with the winner being the rider who can freewheel the furthest after descending the -13% hill from Hempton heading to Duns Tew.
Any type of bike can be used for this along with all other means to gain an aerodynamic advantage, nefarious or otherwise…..
